HEADSHOTS & Personal Branding
Headshots and Personal Branding images are used for many purposes, including resumes, social media profiles, and websites, as well as printed materials to promote yourself and your brand.
During a headshot session, we keep the camera up close and personal. The images are captured from the chest up while we focus on having you look your very best. For personal branding, which can also be done on location, we focus more on what makes you stand out. I’ll coach you throughout the entire process to not only capture amazing imagery but to educate you on what angles and expressions work best for you. We often vary the background colors and love a variety of clothing changes over the course of the session.
In contrast, our portrait sessions are different in that we can spend more time, typically an hour or more including complimentary hair & makeup styling. Portraits offer a broader and more creative range of images by varying not only the clothing selection and style, but also using different framing and more backdrop and lighting sets. ABOUT YOUR HEADSHOT SESSION
Sessions average about 15-30 minutes. We photograph our headshot sessions in our studio at 15 James P. Kelly Way in Middletown, NY.
We like for you to bring a variety of clothing options so we can shoot a handful of different looks throughout the session.
We will be capturing and discussing the images as we go, which will help us adjust the focus of the session to account for anything we feel you could additionally benefit from along the way.
Within about 5 days following the session, we'll review all the images which you will see edited and retouched. You'll be narrowing them down to only your favorite two images that are included and any additional images you'd like to purchase.
HAIR AND MAKEUP
Professional hair & makeup styling for a woman’s session is not required but highly recommended. We have an amazing hair & makeup artist who helps you look and feel your best or you can feel free to use your own.
If you'd like to use a stylist, makeup is applied specifically for the studio lighting and is applied with a very natural finish to give you a very clean simple look. If you have a specific makeup style you’d like, let the makeup artist know when you arrive for your session. For hairstyling, we will discuss what you’re looking for prior to your session.
If you choose not to include professional styling, please arrive with your hair & makeup ready the way you would like to present yourself.
CLOTHING
Feel free to bring a range of different options for clothing, and most importantly, please be sure you’re comfortable in it. We suggest you bring a range of different cuts, colors, and necklines.
For our corporate clients, we like the men to have a variety of jacket/shirt/tie combos and for the women some options of blouse/dress/jacket combos. Keeping jewelry to a minimum is key, studs or small earrings work and simple necklaces, anything hanging or chunky will usually draw too much attention to itself. If you wear glasses and have multiple pairs, then we'd appreciate you bringing them along in order to ascertain their glare factor. If you have any doubt about whether something will work or not just bring it.
For actors and non-corporate, layers are a great way to feature your style. Don’t worry about being seasonal - everything from jeans, t-shirts, tank tops, sweaters, and jackets can work. We have a steamer in the studio, so we'll be able to easily sort out any wrinkling for you.
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
The session is $295 per person and includes your choice of your fully retouched headshot image. Each additional person is $75. Any additional headshots chosen (per image, per person) is $50.
Per each headshot you choose, you will receive TWO versions of the image via an online gallery from which you will download the files. They are delivered in both in high digital resolution as well as web resolution. Full copyright use of all purchased images is included.
If you have specific corporate guidelines, we will work with you to provide what is needed.
SCHEDULING AND PAYMENTS
We are normally available for shooting Monday through Friday, with session times on the half hour from 7:45am-2:30pm.
We accept cash, check, along with Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. The session fee is due at completion of the session. Balance for all additional images purchased is due prior to final delivery.
We work with amazing freelance hair and makeup stylists and if you choose to include their services, you will be paying them directly, therefore they require payment on the day of the session.
