Village of Montgomery Ladies’ Night Out was amazing. Oh, what a night! On October 20, fifteen businesses in the Village of Montgomery hosted a fund raiser for Safe Homes of Orange County, located in Newburgh, NY. It was such an honor to be one of the participants, not only making a donation to this important cause, but also to be able to talk with most of the 175+ visitors that had our charming village teeming with activity.
Women (and a few men) enjoyed the warm Autumn evening as they visited each of the shops, browsing, sipping, nibbling, and making new friends, all by donating toiletry items for this amazing local safe haven for victims of abuse. They were entered into a raffle for a Grand Prize raffle of prizes worth over $1800. Congratulations to our winner, was ticketholder #006.
Raising awareness about such violence can never be overstated, and Safe Homes of Orange County provides victims and their children support that is needed. They provide life-saving services such as a 24-hour crisis hotline, education, advocacy, shelter, counseling, transportation, and legal services, all done through the dedication of quality staff and volunteers who want to see an end to domestic violence.
Thank you to all who joined us to show that big hearts create big things. Our thanks especially goes to Jessica of Flow Theory Art & Craft Studio, Gray Space Collective who organized this incredible evening, as well as to our fellow business participants, and all who made this such a success.
The Safe Homes of Orange County 24-hour Crisis Hotline is 845-562-5340. If you’d like to support this vital organization, please consider making a donation by visiting them online at Safe Homes of Orange County.
