Adrianna & James’s day was perfection for their elegant Waterside Restaurant Wedding. The event was built with simplicity, so much so that the details were still coming together days before the wedding. What we did know was that James had family coming from England and they both expected friends from all over the world, including Dubai.
A first for me was having James show up at Le Parker Meridien where Adrianna was getting her hair and make up done and getting dressed. First Looks are so popular these days, and this gave the First Look a whole new level. Adrianna was stunning and James was handsome, and they were really ready for their ceremony.
Midtown gridlock on a Friday at rush hour had a different plan, and while we finally made it through the across the river, it took nearly 2 hours to drive about 5 miles. Luckily, there was still time in the schedule before the ceremony at dusk, so it was a heartwarming to see Adrianna and James’s families enjoying their time together during formals.
A single violinist, Ruby Wang, played while Adrianna made her way up the aisle to James, overlooking the breathtaking lower Manhattan skyline. They were both so focused on one another, I’d be surprised if they remember anything that the officiant said, other than pronouncing them married and kissing the bride.
Upstairs at the Waterside Restaurant is a sophisticated space, complete with colorful uplighting, white leather seating and the wall of windows allows everyone to witness the magnificent NYC skyline as it transitions from day to night. It was extra special location for those visiting from abroad to experience.
James’s dad, in addition to the Best Man and Maid of Honor toast, gave a multi-lingual toast. He greeted everyone in about 7 different languages, followed by jokes and many funny stories. It seemed the room was filled only with life-long friends.
An amazing day for Adrianna & James, and I wish for them nothing but the very best in their lives together.
